CAM Alexander was founded by Christopher Anthony McKay in 2018. We run individual Alexander Technique classes in Cambridge. Although the studio is based in Cambridge we also work in London and around the world.
Chris is passionate about sharing the benefits of the Alexander Technique, having trained over three years at the Alexander Teacher Training School (ATTS) in London. He is also a member of STAT, the society for teachers of the Alexander Technique.
Chris originally trained at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has an BA (Hons) degree in Professional Acting. He first had Alexander lessons to help him in performance, particularly with how he dealt with nerves in audition situations. He now teaches from a variety of perspectives, Alexander being a dominant one, and is also a certified yoga instructor.
Chris is warm, honest and compassionate and has extensive experience in teaching groups and working one to one with pupils.
Learning is simply a matter of time, and how that time is spent. CAM Alexander aims to offer the best learning experience during the time available. When had, the Alexander experience speaks for itself.
With a background in teaching and performance, Chris brings vitality and warmth to his Alexander work. He is a certified graduate of the Alexander Teacher Training School and a member of STAT.
Our studios in Cambridge are situated within CSVPA, these studios are spacious, light and air conditioned. Thursday morning classes are available in a cosy studio in Dance Works near Bond Street tube station.
